Systems-centred storytelling.
Our world is experienced differently, depending on context, culture and beliefs. Panoramic uses a research-first approach to understand how audiences make meaning, interpret value, and navigate change - before picking up a camera or pen.
The Empathy Project
In 2025, Panoramic was commissioned to produce The Empathy Project, a mid-length documentary exploring how deep emotional connection to animals shapes personal transformation, stewardship and activism. Through intimate interviews with twelve senior advocates, the film reveals how empathy can drive social change while also confronting the climate and biodiversity impacts of animal agriculture.
Directed by Panoramic Founder Tristan Copley Smith, the film will be submitted to festivals and private screenings in early 2026.

How do we measure progress in a world of ecological limits?
This short promotional film explores the Happy Planet Index - a metric that challenges GDP by centring wellbeing and environmental impact. Through a research-led storytelling approach, we translate a complex, counter-intuitive idea into a clear and engaging narrative, designed to provoke reflection rather than prescribe answers. The film shows how audience-aware storytelling can help unfamiliar frameworks land emotionally as well as intellectually.
